Taneeka attended Howard University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and a Master of Arts in Teaching. She began her teaching career as a 2nd grade teacher in Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland. She was team lead, Social Studies chair and program coordinator for the STREAM Robotics Program, while leading the technology department. Taneeka served as the 5th grade level chair at Eno Valley Elementary School in Durham, NC, where she was ranked in the top 25% based on EVASS growth in math, until June 2020, while simultaneously completing her AIG certification at Duke University. She completed her principal residency at Neal Magnet Middle School during the 2020-2021 school year. She then served as the Elementary School Dean of Academics at Triangle Science and Math Academy in Cary, NC. As of November 2021, Taneeka is currently serving as the Assistant Principal at Hope Valley Elementary School in Durham. She can be reached at [email protected].
TANEEKA HANNA IS A FELLOW IN THE NC STATE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
NC State Leadership Academy (NCSLA) is one of NC State’s newest cohorts! NCSLA was modeled after the award winning NC State program, the Northeast Leadership Academy (NELA). NELA earned the honor of being named an Exemplary Educational Leadership Program by the University Council for Educational Administration. Upon completion of the two-year NCSLA program, Fellows will be prepared to lead North Carolina Schools. NCSLA Fellows began the program Summer 2019 and will graduate in May 2021.
